The origin of fireworks

According to the History of Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, was obsessed with mountain ghosts and unable to cure them, so he wrote an edits to the country to seek a doctor. The then 24 year old dress hunter Li Tian tian unveiled his edits. He used the principle of using a clay gun to hunt and used a bamboo tin to mount a mask to banish evil mandrills, and made Li tian the founder of firecrackers to heal the emperor's dragon. Later, the Shangli folk from Yuanzhou Prefecture in West Jiangxi Province had always made a homage to Li Tian, and set up the "founder of Firecrackers Li Tian" in the sacred temple of You Saint in Shangli South Street.
Later Li tian went back to the village to make firecrackers as a business and gradually spread the craftsmanship of making firecrackers to his neighbors. Li tian made benefits to mulberry and zi and won the respect of the people. On that day, people from Maishi, Dayao, Jingang, Wenjia, Tongmu, White Rabbit Pond and other places on the border of Hunan-Jiangxi province started to make ceremonies to commemorate Li Tian, which has been passed down to this day.

Fireworks at the beginning of the function is to ward off evil spirits. Later, in the Song Dynasty, setting off fireworks had become a widespread entertainment. In addition to ringing out the old year and welcoming the new, people also set off firecrackers to celebrate major festivals and happy events, such as Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, weddings and house building.
